chicago votes voter guide 2024 election
I was invited to contribute to a voter guide project for the general election in Chicago, organized by Chicago Votes.
My role was to design a few pages with a strong Chicago theme, incorporating local symbols, imagery, and textures to create a fun and engaging layout.
Despite a tight deadline, I successfully executed the designs, delivering visually compelling pages that aligned with the city’s vibrant identity.
For this project, the objective was to create a visually engaging layout rooted in the identity of Chicago. I utilized original photographs I had taken throughout the city, emphasizing its textures and architectural details to create a strong sense of place. The color palette drew inspiration from recognizable local elements, such as the stars of the Chicago city flag and the colors of the CTA transit lines.
The text spreads were intentionally designed as flexible background layouts to accommodate text overlays, with color coordination applied across the spreads to maintain visual harmony and readability.

how to establish and brand a six figure podcast
During my internship at Fabre Studios, I designed presentation slides for the course “How to Establish & Brand a 6-Figure Podcast!”—a comprehensive guide for building, branding, and scaling a successful podcast.
I created a consistent color theme and layout across all modules, including custom title slides for each section. The presentations featured action items, detailed explanations, and real-world examples. I also designed branding-focused slides to help participants develop a unique podcast identity, covering naming, logo design, messaging, and tone of voice.
The final deliverables provided learners with a clear, engaging visual experience that supported the course’s educational goals.

afrofuturism
My thesis investigates Afrofuturism as a lens for cultural reclamation and speculative creativity.
Grounded in critical texts like Sound and Vision (Glenn Ligon) and Afrofuturism 2.0 (Anderson & Jones), I examined how Black artists use creative expression as radical self-determination.
Synthesizing African quilting traditions with modern typographic and textile design, I created a narrative-driven wall tapestry, accompanied by wearable extensions—a tote and T-shirt—as vehicles for cultural memory and identity.
This project was awarded the Race and Gender Studies Design Award for its contribution to visualizing intersectional narratives through design.

utopia vision
In a collaborative publication envisioning life within a dystopian society, I led visual direction and layout.
Departing from conventional grids, I adopted a playful, 90s-inspired aesthetic to echo the project’s speculative, irreverent tone.
Translating diverse written narratives into a unified visual system deepened my skills in interdisciplinary collaboration, visual storytelling, and adaptive design thinking.

typographic studies
This classroom project explored typography as a medium for collective voice and visual interpretation. Each session began with a prompt, to which students responded anonymously in a shared Google Doc. These fragmented reflections formed the raw textual material for a curated type book series.
I focused on translating these unfiltered narratives into structured visual compositions—experimenting with typographic hierarchy, rhythm, and negative space to evoke tone and authorship within anonymity. The final series reflects both individual expression and communal discourse through typographic form.

photography
my photography interrogates everyday materiality, form, and structure through varied conceptual frameworks.
From meticulously folded compositions and multi-angled studies of simple objects like whisks, to explorations of Chicago’s architectural, typographic, and material landscapes, my work uncovers nuanced narratives within the mundane.
By emphasizing fundamental visual elements—point, line, and movement—I create a dynamic dialogue between abstraction and lived environment, revealing the poetic texture of everyday experience.
